#1054 closed Bug Report (fixed)

query ingen using ingenish

Reported by: gromp Owned by: David Robillard
Priority: major Component: Ingen

Description

i'd like to be able to query an ingen server using ingenish. this would be useful in scripting ingen; one use case is to ensure you aren't duplicating an existing path or referencing an bad path.

i took a look at the source and realized that ingenish has a undocumented "get" command from ingen.py, i think I understand the output but it seems like sometimes the output changes from the same command. i'll try to actually document a case of this happening.

ingenish get is working for me. if i grep -v @prefix | egrep -v ^$ I can get values that i actually want.

it doesn't seem to work anymore. now no matter what I try to get, this gets printed out:

[prefixes omitted because trac thinks they're URLs]

[] a patch:Put ;
    patch:body [ ingen:sprungLayout false ] ;
    patch:subject <unix:///graph/> .

if I do the same thing using the interactive prompt I get two different results. The first time it shows the same as above, but the second time this happens:

> get /graph
error: at line 2 of <>:
Bad syntax (Prefix "patch:" not bound) at ^ in:
" _:b2
	a ^patch:Put ;
	patch:subject </graph/> ;
	patch:body [
		ingen..."

The latter is a bug in the Python where the namespace prefixes are not preserved across several parses, despite using the same rdflib model and namespace manager.

10 points for figuring that one out.
